Applicant FAQs
Q: I need housing right away. Do you have anything available immediately?
A: Unfortunately, EHA does not have emergency housing or rental assistance available. You can call the community information and referral line, 2-1-1, or go to North Sound for information about housing and other community resources that may be available.
Q: I want to apply for housing assistance. What do I need to do?
A: First, review the waiting lists that are currently open. Then, create a Rentcafe account on EHA's RENTCafé applicant portal. You can then complete an application for any open waiting lists.
Q: I have been on the waiting list for some time. How much longer will I be waiting? What is my position on the list?
A: Unfortunately, EHA is not able to provide information about your position on the waiting list. However, most waiting lists have hundreds of households waiting for assistance, and movement on the waiting list depends on existing households vacating, so it may be several years between the time that you apply and when you are offered assistance.
Q: How can I find out when your waiting lists will be open again?
A: EHA will post information on our agency website, publish a legal notice in the Everett Herald, and do outreach to community partner agencies, to provide information about upcoming waiting list openings.
