Benefits

The Everett Housing Authority offers an excellent benefits package which strives to keep employees healthy, allows them to continue to advance in their careers, and plan for their futures. We understand that flexibility is important, and we want our employees to have a solid work/life balance so we provide staff the option to work a flexible schedule. The benefits package is available to all regular, eligible employees.


Medical Insurance

Everett Housing Authority is a Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) employer group, which provides our employees with several options for medical coverage.  Medical plan options include Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans, Managed Care and Health Management Organization plans (HMO), and High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account that includes WA Health Care Authority contributions.


Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is paid at 100% and is also provided through PEBB; employees are offered three dental plan options, which include a PPO Plan and two Managed Care Plans.


Vision Insurance

Vision insurance is paid at 100% and is provided through PEBB; employees have three vision plans to choose from. 


Life Insurance/Long Term Disability

Everett Housing Authority provides employer-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance, as well as employer-paid Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance.  Employees can also enroll in supplemental Life, AD&D and  LTD.


Retirement Plan

Eligible employees are immediately enrolled into Washington State retirement system, PERS (Public Employee's Retirement System).


Deferred Compensation

All eligible employees have the option to participate in a deferred compensation plan which is a tax-deferred retirement savings option available through a payroll deduction.


Time Off

All eligible non-exempt employees accrue up to 12 days of vacation in their first year of employment. All eligible employees accrue 13 paid sick leave days annually. EHA observes 12 paid scheduled holidays, and employees who complete their probationary period are eligible for an additional floating holiday. Part-time employees accrue time off on a pro-rated basis. Accrued time off rolls into the next calendar year.


Employee Assistance Program

All employees have 24/7 access to Magellan Healthcare, a resource that offers free confidential counseling sessions and tools to help during difficult times. To speak to a counselor or inquire about services, contact 1-800-523-5668.


Flexible Work Schedule

EHA offers alternate work schedules and the option to flex time so that employees can enjoy a work/life balance. All administrative staff work 37.5 hours per week and our maintenance staff work 40 hours per week. 


Wellness Program

This voluntary program is designed to improve the health and well-being of all employees. Fun individual and team challenges are offered to participating employees, and $20 monthly incentives are provided to those that complete challenges.


Tuition Reimbursement

Eligible employees will be reimbursed for 80% of the tuition cost of pre-approved, job-related courses, up to $5,250/year.


Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

As a public sector employee, you may qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Under this program, you may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance due on your student loan.  Learn more about the PSLF program here, or read the PSLF program fact sheet (pdf).

*An eligible employee is typically a regular, full-time employee. Regular, part-time employees who work more than 30 hours per week will be eligible for pro-rated benefits.
