Q: What are the program basics?
A: Housing Choice (Section 8) participants receive help with their rent within the private market. These homes are owned and managed by private landlords.

Q: Am I eligible?
A: Eligibility for a housing voucher is determined by the Housing Authority based on the total annual gross income and family size and is limited to US citizens and specified categories of non-citizens who have eligible immigration status. By law, the Housing Authority must provide 75% of its vouchers to applicants whose incomes do not exceed 30% of the area median income.

Q: How much will my rent be?
A: Rent is based on income, applicable payment standard, and program rental cap.

Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Pet policy is determined by your landlord.

Q: What is the least I can earn and still be eligible?
A: There is no minimum income requirement for Housing Choice Voucher applicants.
