FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where am I on the waiting list?
EHA does not assign position numbers to its waiting list. Applicants will be selected in order of the date and time of their original application. This information is visible to the applicant in their RENTCafé portal, or you can look it up in the Waiting List screen of their Voyager record.

Does this mean EHA will be pulling applicants from the HCV waiting list?
Yes. EHA has vouchers available and will be making waiting list selections in 2024-2025. We do not know exactly how many applicants we will select to use the vouchers we have available. We have not received new vouchers; we are simply filling vouchers became available due to program attrition.

Does this mean I am going to get a voucher?
Being on the waiting list is not a guarantee that an applicant will receive a voucher, it simply means they are waiting for their opportunity to apply. When an applicant reaches the top of the waiting list and submits an application, EHA will determine if they are eligible to receive a voucher.

What should I do now?
Stay in contact with EHA. Make sure your contact information, especially your email address, is up to date. Check your email to make sure you don't miss any communication from EHA. Call or email periodically to check in while you are on the waiting list.

I missed the deadline and was removed from the waiting list; can I get back on?
EHA can reinstate applicants who don't respond by the deadline if it is determined that the lack of response was due to EHA error, disability, or circumstances beyond the family's control.
