Everett Housing Authority Receives Family Self-Sufficiency Grant from HUD
Everett Housing Authority (EHA) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. As part of HUD's investment of over $140 million nationwide, this funding will support the efforts of EHA in helping families achieve greater economic independence and financial stability.
With a focus on assisting families living in HUD-assisted housing, the FSS program empowers participants to build savings, gain employment, and work toward self-sufficiency. As a recipient of this award, EHA will be able to enhance its ability to connect local families with vital resources and services, such as job training, financial literacy education, and health and wellness programs. The funding will support the salary of EHA's FSS Coordinator who will work closely with families to provide personalized case management and foster upward mobility. Through these services, EHA will help participants reduce reliance on welfare assistance and achieve lasting economic independence.
"We are excited to be a part of this incredible opportunity provided by HUD. This grant reinforces our commitment to helping families in Everett build a brighter future through financial security and stable housing," said Donelle Kienholz, Family Services Program Manager at Everett Housing Authority. "With the support of HUD, our FSS Coordinator will guide participants toward their goals, empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency and create lasting change in their lives."
This grant is part of a broader effort by HUD to invest in the future of families across the country, providing the tools and resources necessary for families to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. As Everett Housing Authority begins its work with this grant, it remains dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for local families and helping them build a foundation for long-term success.
